Reviews:

I had the pleasure of meeting the team at Head On Out in April 2023 for their Learn to Lead Trad Course.
The instructors are super knowledgeable and passionate, you’ll have a hard time finding something they don’t know on the topic.
On top of that, they’ve been excellent at reading our progress and attitude during the course to understand when to push us or when to reinforce some important points.
I was really impressed with how much we managed to cover, both in terms of techniques for all sorts of situations, as well as actual progress in lead trad climbs.
Keep up the amazing work Head On Out 😊

Really enjoyed my first trad experience with the folks at Head On Out. I came into the course having sport climbed for two years, which some basic sport multi-pitch experience as well.
A friend and I did the course, which was great for building solid foundational skills and then having enough time to put them into practice. I found that particularly useful given how much of a technical and head game trad climbing is, the ability to have extra time leading with the support of great instructors really helped build confidence.
We had brilliant instructors who were incredibly knowledgable and passionate about both the technical side of trad climbing as well as the culture / ethics of the UK climbing scene. They had a very positive teaching style, with much of the instruction seemingly focused on getting participants to really understand why and how to make good decisions on the rock.
It was also great that while there was a set course itinerary, our instructors were very open to adding some skills / scenarios to the course depending on the group's different ambitions in climbing (e.g. multi-pitches).
All in all it was certainly worth the investment and would highly recommend for anyone looking to get into trad climbing.
Chris
