FAQs
-
Some companies will take out groups in larger ratios than four. We choose to keep our ratios small to make sure that you get the most out of your time with us - more than four people means that you won’t receive the attention you need. Small group sizes also make our trips low impact; we are respectful to other climbers at the crag and don’t hog routes.
-
Yes, absolutely. We include transport as standard for all open trips and courses, but if you would prefer to meet us at the crag that’s no problem. However please note that you will still be charged the same rate - we don’t actually charge for transport, it’s included for free.
-
Our open trips all come with transport included, and on private trips wherever possible. We will meet you at a mutually agreed convenient pickup point in London.
If you live further afield and would like to come on a trip with us, don’t worry, we will still be able to put something together. Get in touch with us to find out more.

We can provide all the technical gear that you will require, such as helmets, harnesses, ropes, belay devices and climbing shoes. If you’re not quite sure what you need, check out our suggested kit list.
-
No, unless you are booking a learn to lead course. If you’re unsure of your level, give us a call or send us an email. We can assess your needs and abilities to make sure that we choose the perfect routes for you on the trip. If you’d like an in-person assessment, or want to work on any key skills such as belaying, knot-tying, or climbing technique, we offer indoor coaching.
-
Legally, no, but we strongly recommend that you take out activity insurance for your trip. The BMC offer good quality Rock Insurance that can be purchased for cover throughout the UK and abroad here.
All of our instructors are fully insured for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity.
