Ed took me on a 1:1 trip to Portland in July and it was exceptional. As a beginner it is really useful having someone who knows the best areas, then makes the experience super accessible by sharing his knowledge in a patient way. We visited three different areas in a day, with a nice variety of conditions and scenery. Relaxed drive in his custom van with all gear provided. Can’t wait to do another trip!

We had an amazing day out climbing in the Peak District last weekend. It was our first time climbing outdoors, and we improved so much! Ed took us on a great variety of routes and provided lots of tips, enthusiasm and encouragement. Such a great escape out of London. Ed is very knowledgeable and a great instructor. My day out with Head On Out was nothing less than superb. I was dreaming that this kind of climbing experience company existed. Well, now they do! As someone who is a keen, new to climbing, but with very little spare time away from work -  it is time consuming finding the least complicated way to experience the feeling of real rock (away from the indoor wall) since normally you would have to plan the area, weather, climbs, equipment, travel, accommodation and more. Like heaven sent; all that complexity is taken away by the perfect experience model and structure that Head On Out have put together. An exciting day, where you can really get to grips with the technical detail of climbing (through expert tuition) as well as enjoying the natural beauty of English countryside; all with the security of safely supervised and supported climbing. My instructor Ed was very professional and the day went with complete ease and was enormously fun. I felt I made more progress on my climbing skills in one day than I may have made in months by myself. Ed has extensive knowledge of the variety of climbs and how to tackle them and he made great friendly company all day. I am already booking for my next trips and looking forward!

We just returned from a one-day climbing trip with Head on Out to Stanage, Peak District. Our trip was extremely well organised - including transportation and a great selection of climbing routes which perfectly suited our level of experience and helped us build up our skills and confidence. We totally surprised ourselves with what we could achieve in just one day of climbing! Ed is an excellent instructor - very knowledgeable, patient and enthusiastic. He answered all our questions, from climbing techniques and history to local geology. We would highly recommend Head On Out - our day could not have been better. We are already arranging our next trip!

I booked a 1-on-1 with Ed and we headed to the Peak district. It was a great day, Ed quickly established my level and plotted some great climbing routes. Getting out for a day with Ed really works because he knows all of the different options and he inspires trust, that way no time wasted faffing around and you really make the most of your day. I'm already looking forward to next season!

Ed took a friend and I to Swanage last weekend. This was my first outdoor climbing experience and I thoroughly enjoyed! Ed was a knowledgeable, friendly and experienced guide and teacher who gave me a great introduction to the world of trad climbing.
